From as far back as the year 2000, the Nigerian music industry has witnessed artists hit at each other for both entertainment and real beefs amongst others especially in the hip hop category.

Some of such since the year 2000 till date, are some of the most notable ‘beef’ that left the music industry shaking.

Below are the top 5 disagreements that has been in the Nigerian music industry since 2000.

2baba vs blackface: the two started as part of the musical trio plantashun boys, which included 2baba, faze and blackface. These three led the evolution of musical bands in Nigeria. But sadly the group separated in 2004 and faze released a song where he made touches on the groups break up which was titled ‘faze alone.’

Much later after the break up, 2baba was accused of being the cause of the break up though he pleaded not guilty in his single which was titled ‘no be only you holy pass’ and later reached out to faze and blackfaze for a peace talk in the song ‘see me as your brother.’

Despite these efforts, Faze carried on with the beef and released a diss song for 2baba in 2019 titled ‘war.’

Mode9 Vs Ruggedman: Two of Nigeria’s most renowned rappers had a hit at each other in the 2000s. Mode9 first made a diss at Ruggedman for using indigineous language in his songs. Mode9 released the song titled ‘death blow’ in 2008 and Rugged man had a come back at him with his song ‘to whom it may concern.’

MI Vs Kelly handsome: Kelly’s ‘maga don pay’ gave him so much attention because of it’s tendency to praise online financial fraud and artists like Cobhams, Banky w, Omawumi and MI collaborated to sing thew song ‘maga no need pay’ which was a rebuttal to Kelly handsome’s song. This ignited a beef between MI and kelly.

Olamide Vs Don Jazzy: These two beefed each other at the 2015 headies awards when mavins Reekado banks beat YBNL’s lil kesh to the position of the next rated artist.

Olamide reportedly gave the Organizers of the show a peace of his mind because he felt Lil kesh was ripped off his deserved award as the ‘next rated artist’ and Don jazzy on the other hand, replied Olamide by asking him to take the keys for the vehicle that accompanied the award. These two continued their beef with posts on twitter but later settled with the intervention of Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote as it was so rumored.

Burna Boy Vs Davido: The two big ‘cats’ in the music industry were once bosom friends. Their beef went viral when a fan made a painting of David and Wizkid. Upon posting it, Davido made a caption referring to his self and Wizkid as the two greatest of all time. This evidently didn’t sit well with Burna as he took to his snapchat throwing shades at Davido with a post  which read “you cannot play football, everybody knows you cannot play football and you are an embarrassment to the team but your daddy bought the football team.”

Although names were not mentioned in Burna’s post it was certain he was referring to the star who comes from a wealthy family and has a rich dad.
