Katsina state born real estate executive Hafsat Yusuf, has said there is a dire need for the increment of investment on women in Nigeria.
The business mogul who stated this during the global celebration of the international women’s day celebration which held on the 8th of march 2024 and was themed “invest in women, accelerate progress” said women have over the years, shown their capabilities and prowess in important roles, ranging from their families to their work places and that this call for investment comes from a place of unwavering determination for growth, healthy competition and development in our societies.
According to Hafsat, Nigeria is a youth dominated country and there is every need to invest in the nation’s young people, especially women and future mothers as these investments would be great sources of development, productivity and would keep the nation on the edge above it’s competitions.
The Katsina born real estate executive who spoke about her dreams to inspire more women from the north said, women have shown their crucial contributions to the economic sustainability of the nation, adding that regardless of the past gender differences, recent events have shown a gap between men and women in the work place.
These days we have women making significant footprints in sectors such as engineering, medicine, science amongst others. Women like Hafsat are great examples of resilience and determination and irrespective of all desparities, the north is a region where the voices of women are matched down and their capabilities stamped upon therefore, Hafsat can be seen as a guiding light with how she has been able to dominate the real estate sector.
While speaking at the event, challenges encountered by women both in their personal lives and work places were discussed and hafsat made emphasis on the importance of integrity, and undying passion for excellence and growth.
She said it is not the sole responsibility of the government to enhance opportunities for people and charged the private sectors and cooperate organisations to also involve deliberate frame works for youth empowerment in the nation.
