Tunde was a member of the 2000s boy band styl plus but later broke out of the group for reasons that were not made public by then, in a recent interview with Adeniyi Adewoyin, the singer who now goes by the name Tunde Styl plus spoke on various topics including reasons he exited the group so early. The singer revealed he is a solo artist now and has done so many projects but only his hardcore fans are aware of, he said, he is also into the tech industry where he develops games , data analysis and recently he got his scrum master certificate.
For the past ten years the artist has been away away from the music industry and speaking on this, he said he intentionally decided to hide but now he is back and recently did a show at Hilton but it was exclusively for his friends, when asked why he and other veterans are deciding to come back to the music scene after so many years of being away, Tunde said, i think everybody is just waking up and it’s only in Nigeria that we call them old cats and then banish them, in other parts of the world the old artists are referred to as the vintage artists and new editions of them are touring over the world, Boys2men are also touring so it’s making people wake up to know that the fact that you have new cats doing stuff does not mean you should stop what you are doing, because you still have your fan base even if they are no longer the young ones anymore.
Talking about lessons he has learnt so far after being away from the music industry for a long time, Tunde said he has learnt a lot of things but one thing is for sure, your first appearance and introduction of yourself will always be the way they always perceive and think of yo, if you don’t show anything, they won’t know anything and the fake life is real too, just be yourself and treat people right, that’s what i have learnt over the years because i have mixed with the good and bad, i have known my friends i know who they are and who they are not.
With the introduction of streaming farms in the music industry which has made some people to feel like it is the streaming farms that has afrobeats to go global, Tunde explained that, faking stuff can only take to some extent as you cannot always fool every one , and eventually you are going to stop doing the stream farm and then the real fans will no longer be there to stream your music, s streaming farms are not good for any artist and he insisted that they not have any role to play in the globalization of afrobeats but the artists hardwork and talents being appreciated by the world.
Tunde also said the boy band is not as defunct as people think it is, because they still come together to sing some times. and when asked why he left the group, he said he had a lot of things he needed to engage with as at that time so it was better if everybody had gone their separate ways as they were no longer going to be doing music as the trio they used to be.
