The people of Osolo in Lagos State and the entire Lagos State government have been thrown into mourning following the passing on of a prominent traditional ruler in the state Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III.
Until his death, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka was the Osolo of Isolo in Lagos State where he ruled for twenty years.
According to reports, the Lagos monarch died shortly after returning home from observing the Eid prayers on Wednesday.

“He will be buried today by 4pm at his palace, 3/5 Akinbaye Street, Isolo, according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace.”

Reno Omokri faults Peter Obi’s Eid-el-fitri message to Muslims
In another story, popular Nigerian author and social media influencer Reno Omokri, has faulted Peter Obi’s message to the Muslims as they mark Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
According to Omokri, Peter Obi’s remark on the current state of the nation’s economy in his felicitation to the Muslims was insensitive and misleading.
He wrote on X:
“Peter Obi’s Eid-el-Fitr message to the Muslim Ummah was very insensitive and misleading. Why did he do that? He had made so much progress with his outreach to the North and Muslims in general. I was even beginning to think his change of heart to the Mu’min was genuine. However, his provocative Sallah message undid much of that rapprochement.
“Peter Obi said, among other things, “Our economy is already under severe stress. The currency is losing value daily, unemployment and inflation rising.”
“That statement is not a reflection of the reality on the ground. It is almost criminally dishonest. Perhaps that is what Peter Obi wishes for Nigeria.
“But could he not look for another opportunity or wait for another day to play politics? Other leaders simply felicitated the Ummah and ended it there. But Obi did not. His desperation to be President is causing him to make many unforced errors.
“The Naira has appreciated every day for 14 straight days, including today. Am I lying? Please, Nigerians, am I lying? The Naira started April 2024 above ₦1300 to $1. Today, April 10, 2024, it is ₦1,188 to $1, defying the ₦2000 to $1 projection that the Peter Obi leaning Arise TV gave.
“Just two days ago, on Monday, April 8, 2024, the World Bank said Nigeria’s inflation rate will drop to 24.8 per cent year-on-year in 2024. Yet, this fellow is instigating the Muslim Ummah against the Federal Government on account of rising inflation. Is this how Obi wants to be President of Nigeria? With propaganda?
“If Peter Obi cannot appreciate the recovery of the Naira and the upgrade of our inflation rate by the World Bank, at least he should not lie. When things go wrong, he tweets and Facebook. But when they go well, he refuses to commend, and rather gives a false narrative.
“Obi is the single largest individual importer in Nigeria, as well as part owner of a fidelity bank. To import, he requires foreign exchange. Thus, he cannot say he is unaware of the fact that our Naira is not “losing value daily’.
“I wish the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid and urge them to read what al-Quran says about Munafiq. It is beginning to look like a leopard cannot change its spots.”
